The views, which were approached in the A01, are now going to be shown how they are put into practice when a Muslim is faced with a dilemma where these teachings might be researched to find what they should do in the circumstance. We know that Islam isn’t a pacifist religion but they disagree with war unless all other options have failed; for example negotiations.

The prophet preached of how Muslims should treat a non-Muslim people of monotheistic religions living in an Islamic state, these people are called Dhimmi’s. Muslims are told by Muhammad how to treat Dhimmi’s, he tells them that they are not to be mistreated as they are people of the book and still worship God. If a Muslim looked at the preachings of Muhammad to see how they should treat these Dhimmi’s they would see that they are told not to persecute them but to treat them fairly and the same way that they treat people of their own religion. Allah tells us that people may appear different on the outside but we are all the same on the inside, and that these people are there to test our treatments of them. Allah also tells us through the Qur’an;

“And you dispute people of the book, except with means better, unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong but say: ‘We believe in the revelations which have came down to us and in that which came down to you; our God and your God is one and it is to him we bow.”

Surah 29:49

If a Homosexual bar opened in the vicinity of a Muslim centre or mosque, they may feel tendencies towards them that might make them feel that they should turn to violence. As Islam isn’t a bloodthirsty religion, the people offended may take up other lines to have the bar moved to another place. Muslims would want the bar closed because it teaches in the Qur’an that people of the same sex shouldn’t lye with each other, also it says that you are not allowed intimate contact without being married and as homosexuals can’t get married they wouldn’t be allowed to have intimate contact. In order to carry out their plans they may got to the council to ask for the bar to be either closed or moved they would do this because they believe that homosexuality is wrong.

There are two forms of Jihad; military and the greater Jihad the greater Jihad is the daily struggle for Tahwid, which is oneness with Allah. An example of the greater Jihad is if a Muslim youth wants to go out with friends but knows that he should stay in and carry out his prayer. A muslims reaction to this situation would be to stay in and carry out prayer but the inner struggle or greater Jihad is declining his friends. A muslim would carry out this reaction because they would feel that it is what Allah would of wanted them to do and thus in their search for Tahwid wouldn’t go out with friends.

We have to accept the fact though hat we are looking at the typical response to a situation by muslims, and we must be aware of the fact that not all situations are handled in the same way. One of these examples is in a video, which can commonly be found on the internet called “FACE A LA MORT 7” this is where a man is shot for raping someone by the victims family members. This response maybe frowned up on by many Muslims in western civilisations as they may feel that the

punishment for such a crime is for the criminal to be sent to prison or other such punishments.

We can see why Osama Bin Laden has carried out his terrorist acts, this is because he feels that the west is stopping Muslims carrying out life the way they want it to be. The main reason for this is because of what is going on between the Palestinians and Israelis where the west is backing the Jewish Israel in its fight to over come the Muslim state of Palestine. The war is going on because of one site which is sacred to both religions and the Muslims feel that they are being mistreated by having it taken away from them and due to the west intervening on their fight to control this land. When Islamic terrorist groups see what they view as mistreatment they stand up for themselves and due to this such incidents as September 11th occur. Many Muslims may feel that what happened was wrong as it went against the word of the Sharia (Islamic law) which says that it isn’t a Jihad if;

Innocent women and children are exposed to physical danger, also Bin Laden went against another law as he isn’t a religious leader he can’t declare a Jihad. So if a Muslim looked at what Bin Laden has done they would think that he has done wrong and has gone against the will o Allah and will suffer on the Day of Judgement.
